This week we learnt about the story of how the Te Ika-a-Maui (North Island) and Te Waiponamu (South Island) were created. The class chose a part of the story and in groups came up with a movement they felt reflected this. They then presented their movement to the class and in groups put all of the movements together in an interpretive dance.
Welcome to Akomanga 16's blog. We are a class of year 3 and 4 learners at Hamilton East School, New Zealand. Room 16 are developing skills to become life long learners. They will experience opportunities to teach, learn and practise. If you are taking part in distance learning and unable to access seesaw, please see the distance learning tab for activities. Cross Country
It's that time of year again! Come the cold weather it's time to get warm and set some personal goals.
This term in the lead up to cross country learners are attempting to beat their personal best and focussing on how running (and indeed any physical activity) changes how their body feels. We're focussing on the positive effects of physical activity on both our bodies and our minds.
A quick reminder that if your learner doesn't enjoy running in bare feet then they should bring suitable running shoes to practise in.
