Monday 11th April

All About Me.

This week you are going to write a character description, of yourself! Think about what you look like, what you are like as a person and what you like to do. How will you introduce yourself in a way that hooks your reader in?

Monday 4th April

Lucas The Spider

Watch the video of Lucas the Spider. As you are watching think about what Lucas looks like, what he is like as a character and what he does during the video. Next you will put these ideas in a Y Chart and write about Lucas as a character.

Monday 28th March

We are continuing with character writing this week. Pick a character out of a book you have recently read of a movie you have watched. What do they look like? What are they like as a character (what's their personality)  what things do they do? Use a character Y chart for you planning and email your writing to adent@hameast.school.nz.

Monday 21st March

Watch the video about the Big Bad Wolf and his story of what really happened with the three little pigs.  Once you have done that, think about the Big Bad Wolf in this story. What does he look like? What does he like to do? What is his personality like? Write a piece introducing the Big Bad Wolf to someone who has never met him.

Remember to use a Y chart to plan your writing. I have also included an example of descriptive writing which shows how you could set out your writing. Your writing should include an introduction (who you are writing about).

Monday 14th March

This week we are writing about a character from the book slime (Or a book you have read at home). Think about that character. What do they look like? Are they young? Or old? What do they like to do?  Write a piece and include these ideas in your writing. If you would like to share your writing with me, you can publish it to Seesaw, or email me adent@hameast.school.nz

Monday 7th March

Writing

This week we are writing about a good friend. Think about a good friend you have, or would like to have. What do they look like? Are they young? Or old? What do they like to do? Do they like to do the same things as you? What are they like as a person? Are they kind? Thoughtful? Adventurous. Write a piece and include these ideas in your writing. If you would like to share your writing with me, you can publish it to Seesaw, or email me adent@hameast.school.nz

Monday 28th February

Writing

This week we are writing about our favourite place to be. I have included some photos of Room 16's brainstorm about their favourite place and then some ideas for your planning. You need to think about what you see, hear, do in your favourite place and how it makes you feel. Don't forget to introduce your favourite place. Once you have finished your writing you can upload it to Seesaw, or send it to me at my email address.

February 2022

Tena koutou katoa.

The majority of online learning for Room 16 will be posted to Seesaw. If you are not able to access Seesaw for any reason then there are links on this Blog that will take you to Mathletics, Sunshine classics (literacy) and other websites you can access for curriculum and home based activities. If you wish to share your learners work and cannot do so via Seesaw then you can email it directly to me at the above email address.

Ngā mihi
