Pukatea Planting

It was Hine's birthday last week and the Rennie family kindly gifted her a Pukatea tree to plant on the nature trail. We have been doing a lot of work on the nature trail and are becoming experts at caring for it.
We researched information with Sonja's help about where the best place to plant it in the gully would be. We had a plant guide to see what could grow well around it too. We took the tree to Putikitiki and planted it near the bottom of the gully. Did you know it can grow up to 40 metres tall! We talked about how many Hine's that would be!

Can you see it when you are on Putikitiki?
