Welcome back to Term 4! We have an exciting and busy term planned.
Diwali
Last week Hamilton East School learners celebrated Diwali. Diwali is the Hindu Festival of lights. At Positive Assembly one of Room 18's learners, Diya, presented a lovely speech about Diwali celebrations. She wore a traditional Kurtis and looked absolutely stunning representing her culture.
International Food Festival
On Thursday 5th of December Hamilton East School will be hosting its annual International Food Festival. In order to make this successful we are looking for parent and whānau volunteers to hold a stall for each classroom. For more details please contact Gaylene Bobsien at gbobsien@hameast.school.nz
Learners from Room 18 will be focussing on food during term four to tie in with the festival. Focus areas will include science, art and technology. We will also be learning about the culture and customs of the country of our food stall.
Learners began this journey on Friday by sketching fresh fruit items from their lunchboxes. This included sketching the remains of their fruit! Focussing on shadows and light, and texture made for some very detailed sketches.
Welcome to Akomanga 16's blog. We are a class of year 3 and 4 learners at Hamilton East School, New Zealand. Room 16 are developing skills to become life long learners. They will experience opportunities to teach, learn and practise. If you are taking part in distance learning and unable to access seesaw, please see the distance learning tab for activities. You can email me at adent@hameast.school.nz if you have photos to share.
