We have been learning about beat and body percussion in class, so this was a great opportunity to experience how this can lead on to music making and performance.
On Tuesday I was lucky enough to attend professional development for science. I came away with some great ideas for sparking interest in the classroom.
Although it was postponed on Thursday, due to the weather, it was great to see every learner in room 18 trying their hardest at cross country on Friday. I am so proud of each and every one of them for putting in so much effort and supporting each other as well.
Lastly, Friday is our day for Chapter Chat activities. This term's book is The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. This is a programme that children from all over New Zealand participate in and we have really enjoyed flexing our creative muscles and completing some of the activities. Below are some pictures captured, showing the breadth of activities that learners can undertake.
Coming up in week six is our long awaiting Kete Aronui art exhibition. The learners have put so much time, effort and thought into their artworks, they are really excited to share these with their whānau. Can't wait to see you there!
